UKC® United Kennel Club

In UKC your dog must also be proficient in Birch, Anise and Clove but also 2 new odors, Myrrh and Vetiver, these are also level specific target odors. Your dog must also pass the equivalent of an odor recognition test for each target odor called a PT (pre-trial) before they can enter the level for that odor. The elements in UKC are the same as NASCW® however in UKC you are not required to pass all four in one day to earn a title. Instead you earn ‘legs’ towards your overall title by passing each element twice.

In addition to earning your overall title once you have 2 passes in each element you will also earn an individual element title for containers, exterior, interior and vehicles. Your dog must be registered with UKC in order to participate in their events. Details on how to register and rules specific to UKC title levels can be found here!

More Organizations

The National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW™) is dedicated to making high quality instructors available to students of the activity and sport of K9 Nose Work® through its Certified Nose Work Instructor Program.

At the AKC, we know that a well-trained dog is a joy to own. AKC classes provide a starting point for a lifetime of training and learning with your dog.

In C-WAGS you will find the most relaxed atmosphere of nose work. The odors are also Birch, Anise, Clove and Cypress but there are no distinct elements in this organization. It is a great venue to get your feet wet and test what you have learned.
